Hillcrest Hospital is embarking on a major expansion and renovation project. The hospital, ranked nine times as one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals®, has long been known on Cleveland's East Side for providing quality care in a broad range of medical specialties including heart care, cancer care, surgery, digestive health, pain management, and women's and children's services. Hillcrest is considered to be an anchor of Cleveland Clinic's regional hospitals. Upon completion of this five-year $163 million Campus Development Project, the value of the Hillcrest campus is estimated to be close to $700 million, making it the largest investment in a community hospital made by Cleveland Clinic.The building project will launch this year and continue through a five-year period.
Major components of the project include:
- An expansion and total re-design of the Emergency Department that will double the size to accommodate the increasing volume in the adult and pediatric areas, as well as allow for the development of special services such as a Chest Pain Center and a Stroke Center
- A new bed tower expansion that will add 72 new private rooms
- Fully redesigned and expanded operating rooms and surgical services
- Development of a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and renovated labor and delivery and postpartum areas
- Renovations and cosmetic improvements to the hospital's main bed tower
- Expanded parking
- Major infrastructure improvements to handle the increasing space and technology needs of the new addition
